The Age of Impressionism: Great French Paintings from Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute on March 6, 2014

Ms. Lori Wrinkle reported on the Houston Museum of fine Arts event called, visiting “The Age of Impressionism”: Great French Paintings from Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute on march 6, 2014. This event was a huge success! The twenty-six members which were in attendance, included a few new faces and they were eager to learn more about the Patrons. The were taken on a private tour of “The Age of Impressionism” exhibit and were delighted. The exhibit was a masterful collection of 19th century French paintings which were making their final appearance in Houston after touring for the past three years. The exhibit showcased more than 70 pieces of art from Edgar Degas, Edouard Manet, Claude Monet, Berthe Morisot, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-August Renoir, and Alfred Sisley.

After touring the exhibit, we gather at Hotel ZaZa for dinner and a chance to mix and mingle. As a special treat for our members, we had the privilege of having Father Nathaniel Haslam present to elaborate on the up coming trip to Rome. Father Haslam led the group last year on the journey to Rome and will be accompanying our members again this year. We thank everyone who was able to attend the event and can not wait for the next opportunity to gather together in support of the preservation and restorations of the Vatican Musems.
